The day then begins over with Mulder’s water mattress springing a leak (A nice callback to Morris Fletcher) and the agents need to repeat the day until they get it proper. It may be very Groundhog Day however with an X-Files spin on it. The Flukeman himself was performed by Darin Morgan who would go on to write down some absolute classics himself. Another optimistic note was in true X-Files fashion, the day was not completely saved and the villain manages to stroll (well not quite in this case) free.
It’s not scary at all but it’s funny and has a heart. If Mulder himself had a favorite episode of The X-Files I suppose it would be this one.
